The Hip Hop Version Of The Annie Film Stars Quvenzhane Wallis!

Quvenzhane Wallis will be playing the main character in the latest adaptation of the musical film “Annie”.  The 9 year old actress from “Beasts Of The Southern Wild” will be replacing Willow Smith who refused to play the role.  Quvenzhane did not win the best actress during the Oscars since the award was given to Jennifer Lawrence.

However, the Columbia Pictures has a lot of confidence in her, Hannah Minghella said:

“Quvenzhane Wallis is a true star and we believe her portrayal as Annie will make her a true worldwide star.”  Will Smith recently made an announcement that her daughter won’t be playing the role because she opted to become a normal teenager.  Willow is not even tempted to work with Jay-Z who will be doing the musical score for Will Gluck’s remake of Annie.  This new adaptation will be produced by Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith.  Will said:

“Willow was supposed to be doing Annie. We got Jay-Z to do the movie, got the studio to come in and Willow had such a difficult time on tour with Whip My Hair and she said, ‘You know Daddy, I don’t think so’.”

“And I said, ‘Baby, hold up!’ I said, ‘No, no, no, listen, you’ll be in New York with all of your friends and Beyonce will be there. You will be singing and dancing,’ and she looked at me and said, ‘Daddy, I have a better idea, how about I just be 12′.”

Wallis will have a movie with Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender later this year which will be entitled “Twelve Years a Slave”.  This story is based on Solomon Northup’s book.

Wallis and Willow have different decisions but it is what they want and enjoy!
