Serena Williams shows off her curves on the cover of FITNESS Magazine. Inside the magazine, she talked about loving her curves as well as her body image. The tennis icon also revealed that is took her several years before she learns to accept and love her own skin. What is Serena Williams in private and what is she publicly? Serena said:
“I think of myself as two different people, There’s the Serena Williams that everyone knows: She’s crazy… She can’t make a mistake… And she’s angry and just not nice, to be honest. I’m only that person for three hours a day when I’m on the court. The rest of the time I’m just Serena. I’m the class clown. It’s not the real me. Even for me, it’s shocking to see. But in another way, it’s kind of cool to know that I have everything together on the court, because I don’t really have my life together personally.”
When it comes to her body image and insecurity, she revealed:
“When I was young I thought I should be built more like an athlete -long and lean- not with a womanly figure. But then people my age started coming up to me and saying, ‘I love you because of the way you look.’ That was really motivating. So I learned to be proud of my curves and embrace my large boobs. It’s all about loving who you are and realizing that you’re beautiful.”

Oprah looks so fabulous on the cover of the May 2014 issue of O Magazine. This is just a proof that age is just a number. The theme of the new issue is “How To Love The Skin You’re In.” Despite the fact that Lady O is already 60 years old, she still looks beautiful and sexy. On the cover, Winfrey wore a royal purple dress created by Vicky Tiel of Carms Couture Designs. Inside the magazine, Oprah revealed the most challenging part of aging:
“I’m not one to get hung up on numbers but if you want to say 60 is the new 40, I’ll take that. You can be and do whatever you want, thanks to exercise and hair color. Hair color. The greatest invention of all time for women. Thank you, Miss Clairol.”
What are Oprah’s thoughts about the best and the worst factors about growing older? She said:
“The absolute best part about aging is being free and able to do whatever you want. There’s nothing better than that. The hardest part is really recognizing the time that you’ve wasted and the things that you worried about that really didn’t matter. You regret the time that was wasted.’”

How does she feel while waiting for the winners on award shows? Lupita said:
“I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. It’s an internally loud moment. It’s not even about the outcome; it’s about the agony of the unknown. It’s like waiting for test results in a hospital.”

Beyoncé imitates Marilyn Monroe on the latest cover of Out magazine. The singer wore a short blond hair which makes her look like the legendary sex symbol. Well, this is probably Beyonce’s response to those who feel that she has become too raunchy. There have been a lot of criticisms since the singer has released her self-titled album which contains explicit lyrics, videos as well as performances. She even sings about making oral sex on her husband in addition to graining on his wood, Now, Bey is responding to critics as well as double standards.
Bey told the LGBT publication:
“There is a double standard when it comes to sexuality that still persists. Men are free and women are not. That is crazy.”

“You can be a businesswoman, a mother, an artist, and a feminist – whatever you want to be – and still be a sexual being. It’s not mutually exclusive.”

There’s no doubt that this is definitely the year of Lupita Nyong’o. After bringing home an Oscar award, Lupita now obtained an endorsement deal with Lancôme. The actress is now considered as the first black celebrity spokesperson for the French beauty brand. After the deal was announced, Lupita made a statement expressing her excitement as well as gratitude. She said:
“I am truly honored to join the Maison Lancome, a brand with such a prestigious history that I have always loved. I am particularly proud to represent its unique vision for women and the idea that beauty should not be dictated, but should instead be an expression of a woman’s freedom to be herself.”
This is a great opportunity for Lupita. During her acceptance speech at Essence’s 7th Annual Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon, she talked about her early struggles and how she embraced her beauty. She said:
“I remember a time when I too felt unbeautiful. I put on the TV and only saw pale skin, I got teased and taunted about my night-shaded skin. And my one prayer to God, the miracle worker, was that I would wake up lighter-skinned. The morning would come and I would be so excited about seeing my new skin that I would refuse to look down at myself until I was in front of a mirror because I wanted to see my fair face first. And every day I experienced the same disappointment of being just as dark as I was the day before.”

It’s kind of funny actually because we went out to dinner after this, to a real dinner, but I was like ‘Target is my favorite place- I want to go to Target!’ So I met him [there]. You can learn so much about somebody at Target.
We didn’t eat at Target, we went out to a nice restaurant with linen table cloths. But first, we went to Target! You can really get to know someone at Target. Like, ‘What kind of quilts are you into? What’s your favorite movies? What kind of snakes you like?’
