Angelina Jolie will not be attending the funeral of her aunt which will be held on Sunday (June 2) since this is also the same day of the London premiere for Brad Pitt’s new movie. Jolie will be attending this event to show her support for her fiance.
Debbie Martin, the sister of Jolie’s mother Marcheline Bertrand, died of breast cancer in a California hospital last Sunday (May 26). Martin’s family members will be paying their final respects this weekend. However, Jolie won’t be able to attend the ceremony since she chooses to be with Brad in England for the premier of World War Z. This will be the first time that she will attend a red carpet event after having a double mastectomy.
Ron, Martin’s widower, revealed, “We are making the final arrangements for the funeral as we speak… Angelina will be in London on Sunday so she won’t be able to attend but she has been in touch with us and with various other members of the family, which has obviously been lovely and has meant a lot to us.”
He further added, “We are currently in the process of setting up a foundation in Debbie’s memory and we are hoping to raise money for women who can’t afford to get BRCA testing.”
“We are hoping to work with a charity called the Clearity Foundation so that every woman in America will have access to BRCA testing that could save her life – no matter how much money she has.”
Condolence to the family of Debbie Martin!
